Cast in sterling silver using the lost-wax method, the hair stick begins as a wax model hand-carved at the bench. The form was inspired by eucalyptus pod clusters Kirsten collected in the canyon below her studio. The interior of the pods is oxidized with a black patina that evolves over time, while the edges carry a bright polish that catches light along the form.

Where do the pod forms come from?
Kirsten collects eucalyptus pod clusters in the canyon below her San Francisco studio. The natural forms are translated into wax and then cast in silver through the lost-wax casting process.
Can I wear two hair sticks together?
Yes. The Bell Pod pairs beautifully with another hair stick for contrast. The wider pod cluster reads differently when juxtaposed with a longer tapered form like the Araucaria.
Can you make this in another metal?
