Carnelian Bouquet Earrings

Fiery carnelians dangle from tiny conical clusters, each a hand-carved bouquet that sits flush against the ear. The stone carries a warm, saturated orange-red, translucent color where the light enters it. Verdigris patina settles into the recesses of the carving, a soft green against the warm bronze.

The bouquet is hand-carved in wax, then cast in yellow bronze using the lost-wax method. The carved clusters hold the verdigris in their crevices while the raised forms stay warm and bright. The carnelian drops hang below, catching the light as they move. Playful and organic, these wear as easily every day as they do for an occasion.
