These rare Andalusite beads look rusty red, moss green, or golden brown in different light due to their strong Pleochroism. This is an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles. It's caused by selective absorption in crystals of light vibrating in different planes.

The Green Rutilated Quartz focal stone is capped on each end in yellow bronze. The bronze carving plays off the needle-like rutile design inside the stone. Hand-knotted and one-of-a-kind, this necklace can be worn long, draped over your shoulder, or doubled up. It's a true celebration of nature and her immeasurable beauty.
