Lantern Earrings - Yellow Bronze

The form is loosely inspired by the lantern plant, which Kirsten loved as a child for their bright orange color, bulbous shape, and thin papery membrane. The piece carries that childhood fascination into bronze, the textured surface picking up and reflecting light beautifully as the earrings sway.

Cast in yellow bronze using the lost-wax method, each earring begins as a wax model hand-carved at the bench. The lanterns hang delicately from gold-fill ear wires, providing subtle movement with every turn of the head.

What is the lantern plant?
Physalis alkekengi, sometimes called Chinese lantern or winter cherry. The plant produces papery orange husks that surround its fruit — a bulbous, glowing form that translates beautifully into sculptural jewelry.

Are the ear wires sensitive-skin friendly?
Gold-fill is generally well-tolerated. If you have specific metal sensitivities, please contact us about alternative ear wire options.
