Slide Ring - Silver

The latest addition to the Slide Series, this ring pays homage to Isamu Noguchi's Slide Mantra sculpture. Noguchi believed that play could lead to a deeper appreciation of sculpture, and the ring's design reflects that joyous spirit. The brushed matte surface gives the piece an otherworldly glow, while subtle steps on one side of the band draw the eye up and around the highly polished edge, leading it down in a graceful spiral.

Cast in sterling silver using the lost-wax method, the ring begins as a wax model hand-carved at the bench. The band feels silky smooth against the finger, and when the hand opens there is a surprise inside. The spiral edge allows the ring to stand up on its own when off the finger, the form serene and inviting on the surface and a sculptural object in its own right.
