Mosaic Ring - Silver

This sculptural ring is the antidote to all things ordinary. The substantial hand-carved band has a unique texture, like rippling water. The piece has an ancient feel, like a weathered gate or armor plate from a long-lost culture, drawing on the visual language of Gustav Klimt and brutalist architecture. Black oxidation defines and enhances the distinctive pattern, giving the ring a commanding presence on the hand.

Cast in sterling silver using the lost-wax method, the ring begins as a wax model hand-carved at the bench. The substantial band tapers from a full 1" across the top down to 5⁄16" at the back for a comfortable, secure fit. Black oxidation fills the recessed pod openings, creating depth against the polished silver surface.

How does the silver age over time?
The black oxidation in the recessed areas will mellow with handling and time. The polished high points may develop subtle patina with wear, settling into a softer surface. Use a polishing cloth to brighten the edges when needed.
